Bulletin Announcements from 8/21/2011

ALTAR FLOWERS are given to the glory of God by Betty Barnett in celebration of the birthday of her daughter, Phyllis Price, on August 22.

A REMINDER OF GOD’S LOVE The additional bouquet of roses on the altar are from the more than 150 bushes on our church campus. They are a reminder to us of God’s love and constant provision for all our needs.

PUT ON YOUR THINKING CAPS! We’re searching for theme ideas for our 120th Anniversary in 2012. If you desire, please write suggested themes for consideration on the back of your attendance cards.

NEXT SUNDAY We will baptize Tatiana Maravilla, daughter of Elena Marchany and granddaughter or Felix Marchany, during worship on Sunday 28 August. Tatiana will make history as she has requested baptism at the outdoor fountain in the Fackler Garden – a Historic First Lutheran “first!”

LAST CALL FOR P2P If you’ve not yet taken advantage of Pastor Schaar’s offered home visit, you only have one week left. Stop by the easel in the Narthex and sign-up today!

PROUD OF HISTORIC FIRST LUTHERAN? Show your pride by purchasing Historic First Lutheran note cards and using them for your correspondence. Note cards and envelopes come ten to a package for $5.00 and are available in blue, green or red. See Pastor Schaar to purchase!

SUNDAY SCHOOL TO RESUME Children of all ages – and their parents – should remember that weekly Sunday School resumes on Sunday 11 September in Koch Hall.

“GOOD FRIDAY” RESUMES Our “Good Friday” Youth Outreach resumes Friday 9 September at 6:30 p.m. in the gym. This program is for children and youth aged 4 to 20-something.

LAST CHANCE Anyone desiring to include a friend or loved one’s name to the All Saints’ Garden plaque, the deadline for your $100.00 per name contribution is Sunday 25 September.

USHERS: TAKE NOTE Next week’s service will involve Usher Team #2 – Rogelio Douglas.
