Weekly Prayer Suggestions

We believe in the healing power of prayer. Therefore we bring these requests to God's Throne of grace and mercy:

Sunday 15 May – Thank God for His goodness and grace and blessings upon Historic First Lutheran over the past almost 119 years. Thank Him also for His promise to continue to bless all who humble themselves and seek His Face.

Monday 16 May – Pray by name for those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries this week: Betty Barnett (16); Sidnie Dabbadie (17); Jacqueline Valdez (18); Dennis Carmain (21); Brenda Rubio Castillo (21).

Tuesday 17 May – Ask God to hasten the Day when “every knee will bow and every tongue confess Him as Lord and Savior, to the glory of God the Father.”

Wednesday 18 May – Thank God for the privilege of approaching Him personally in prayer. If you’re not able to attend our “Prayer Force One” today at 11:30 a.m., spend some time with Him in prayer at that time wherever you find yourself.

Thursday 19 May – Pray for our governmental leaders: Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard (as well as the mayor of your respective cities); Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich; California Governor Jerry Brown; California Senators Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer; President Barack Obama. Whether or not you voted for them or like them, they ARE God’s appointed leaders and deserve – and NEED – our prayers.

Friday 20 May – Ask God to bless you with ONE opportunity today to share His love with someone else.

Saturday 21 May – Thank God for being your Good Shepherd. Confess to Him times this week that you have wandered away from Him. Ask Him to fill you with His Spirit to empower you to always stay close to Him.
