Bulletin Announcements from 2/6/2011

ALTAR FLOWERS are given to the glory of God by Ruby Baker in thankfulness to God for all His blessings.

LAYING DOWN YOUR FLEECE If you missed Pastor’s sermon on Sunday 2 January, special copies are available from the table in the Narthex. And if you’ve not yet completed your “Fleece” sheet to be added to our collection on the altar, additional copies are available also from the table in the Narthex.

MILESTONES Letters have been mailed all members of Historic First Lutheran who are celebrating 90/ 95/ 100 years of life during 2011. If you are celebrating one of those milestone birthdays but did not receive a letter, please notify Pastor Schaar immediately! Also, if you are celebrating a 50/ 55/ 60/ 65/ 70 wedding anniversary, please notify Pastor Schaar immediately.

DOWNTOWN AVAILABLE Issue #12 of “Downtown,” edited by Pastor Schaar, is available from the Information Rack in the Narthex.

ACTIVITY PACKETS FOR CHILDREN In addition to the Children’s Bulletins available from the table in the Narthex, parents should know that there are bags with coloring books and crayons available from the basket in the Cry Room. But, parents, please ensure these are returned in neat fashion when your child uses one.

THANK YOU I would like to thank you for keeping in touch with me – for your calls, cards and prayers. I appreciate it so much. I hope for a better 2011. – Helga Muder

GATHERING REGISTRATION All members and regular visitors may attend most of the Gathering of the Association of Downtown Lutheran Churches at no cost. But you must register, using the forms available from the Information Rack in the Narthex.

PASTOR TO PEOPLE HOME VISITS Now that the rush of the Christmas season has passed, Pastor Schaar is resuming his P2P Home Visits. Available appointment times through the entire month of February are posted on the easel in the Narthex. Some evening and weekend appointments are also available. Everyone is invited and encouraged to sign-up for a visit!

SOUPER BOWL MONTH Every Sunday during February you’re invited to bring non-perishable food items to the table in the Narthex. Items collected will be immediately donated to the ECPAC food pantry.

ENGLISH GARBAGE Out of respect for our Spanish worshiping community which follows our morning service, please do not leave bulletins or papers behind in the pews or pew racks. We enjoy a clean church building every Sunday. Let’s share that blessing!

WELCOME BACK! We are most blessed to welcome back Jessica Valentine as an official member of Historic First Lutheran. Jessica’s membership was reinstated by her request this past week.

WHAT HAPPENED? After a wonderful financial end to 2010, we ended January, 2011 with a DEFICIT of $2,913.03!

USHERS: TAKE NOTE Next week’s service will involve Usher Team #2 – Roger Douglas, Mark Hagander and Mary Hagander.
