Bulletin Announcements from 11.28.2010

ALTAR FLOWERS are given to the glory of God by Dorothy Martin in joy and praise and thanksgiving as she celebrates her 92nd birthday on 29 November 2010.

A REMINDER OF GOD’S LOVE The additional bouquet of roses on the altar are from the more than 150 bushes on our church campus. They are a reminder to us of God’s love and constant provision for all our needs.

OUR BLUE PARAMENTS The blue paraments adorning our altar, lectern and pulpit are gifts in loving memory of Dr. John Greenlee. They are blue for Advent. Blue is the color for hope and expectation. Our particular parament set is called “Glory to God,” reminding us of the message of the angels to the Bethlehem shepherds. The altar parament includes the word “Gloria” (Latin for “Glory”) as well as the symbols of four advent candles. The lectern parament shows a 1st Century oil lamp (from a couple of Jesus’ parables), superceded by the Chi Ro (the Greek letters for the first three letters in the Name “Christ”). The pulpit parament mimics the altar parament, with four advent candles, set into a wreath.

TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY Our quarterly Voters’ Assembly on 12 December will review our 2011 congregational budget and elect officers for the next 2 years. Advance packets will be available next Sunday.

MIDWEEK ADVENT SERVICES Starting this Wednesday, our Advent discipline allows for midweek worship services at 12:00 Noon and 7:00 p.m. This week’s theme is “Wait Till Your Father Comes Home,” based on Isaiah 64:1-9.

BUS TRIP TO CITRUS SINGERS Everyone is reminded about our annual trip to “Christmas Is” at Citrus College on Saturday 11 December. The bus will leave the south parking lot promptly at 1:00 p.m. The cost owed Rudy Melinat is $19.00 if you take the bus; $18.00 if you don’t take the bus. Our seats are on the EAST side of the auditorium this year.

THANK YOU! Marlene and John Ochetti express their appreciation to everyone for their prayers, well wishes and cards on Marlene's behalf.

USHERS: TAKE NOTE Next week’s service will involve Usher Team #6: Kevin Baumgartner, Daniel Hendry, Steven Hendry and James Price.
