Bulletin Announcements from 5/2/2010

ALTAR FLOWERS are given to the glory of God by Arthur Urdiales, in loving memory of his mother, Lydia Urdiales, whose birth date was 20 May, and to thank God for His many blessings.

A REMINDER OF GOD’S LOVE The additional bouquet of roses on the altar are from the more than 150 bushes on our church campus. They are a reminder to us of God’s love and constant provision for all our needs.

LWF EVENT The Lutheran Women's Fellowship Mother/Daughter/Friends Luncheon will be held on Saturday 15 May at 12 noon. Marshall's Department Store will host the fashion show and models will be members and family from Historic First Lutheran. Special guests will be the Hispanic ministry program, women of Elizabeth House, Union Station and The Women's Room at the Ecumenical Council of Pasadena Area Churches. Reservations are a must. We already have over 30 reservations. Please let Zora Oglesby, Harriet Dickens, Carol Numrich or Anna Price know if you will be attending or drop your reservation form in the offering plate.

MEN NEEDED We are putting out a request for men to set up for the Women's Luncheon on Saturday 15 May. Tables and chairs need to be set up at 9:00 a.m. and taken down before or after church on Sunday 16 May. Please let Carol Numrich know if you can help at 626-356-3904.

TEDDY BEARS This coming Tuesday is the last day to drop off teddy bears for the children of mothers who are at Chino Women's Prison. Bring teddy bears after church today to the Green Room or to the church office on Tuesday, before noon. Thanks so much!

NEXT SUNDAY! Happy Mother’s Day! If your mother is still living, bring her to church with you. If you’re a mother, bring all your children to church with you. Together we will celebrate this great gift of God to all of us.
