ALTAR FLOWERS are given to the glory of God by the Altar Guild of Historic First Lutheran.
OUR WHITE PARAMENTS The beautiful white paraments adorning our altar, lectern and pulpit were lovingly donated in memory of Paul W. Daniels, 1923 - 1984. White is the color for purity, holiness and righteousness. Our particular parament set is called “The Great I Am.” The altar parament includes the Cross in the center, surrounded by the words “I Am,” a reminder of many of Jesus’ claims about Himself. A “Chi Ro” rises out of the top of the Cross, representing the first two Greek letters of the Name “Christ.” On the extreme sides of the altar parament are the Greek letters “Alpha” and “Omega,” reminding us that Christ is the Beginning and the End. The lectern parament contains the combined Cross and “Chi Ro” seen on the altar parament. The pulpit parament contains the Alpha and the Omega seen on the altar parament. Particularly designed for the Easter Season (although also used for Christmas and Epiphany), our parament set contains what looks to be lightning flashes, reminding us of the brilliance of the Christmas Star and the Resurrection of Jesus.

PORTALS OF PRAYERS The April – June issue of “Portals of Prayer,” a daily devotional booklet, is available from the Information Rack in the Narthex.
TEDDY BEAR COLLECTION Congregation members and others are invited to join in this wonderful project for children who will visit their mothers on Mother's Day, not at home, but at Chino Women’s Prison. Help make their visit a comfortable one by donating a teddy bear, at least 8 inches in height. Please place in the Green Room or give to Ann Price, Harriet Dickens, Zora Oglesby or Carol Numrich. Gifts of cash may also be given and teddy bears will be purchased. Collection will be completed at the Lutheran Women's Fellowship event on May 1.
THANKS FOR MAKING US LOOK GOOD! Special thanks to Andrea Gómez and Alicia Lorenzana for all their help dressing and decorating the cast of last Sunday’s Palm Sunday Procession.
BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS Our first annual “Blessing of the Animals” on Saturday 27 March was a great success! It was attended by more than 20 people, with 8 dogs in attendance. That number even includes one neighboring family (a new contact) who brought their dog.
