STALKING (DAY 6 I think)

Update from Key West Florida

KEY WEST LOVES A PARADE! I can't emphasize that enough! It is not uncommon for a few boy scout and / or girl scout troops to simply gather and suddenly a street is shut down.

Yesterday we had a parade - one of two I will get to enjoy while I am here.

Yesterday's parade could have celebrated the departure of the Parrotheads, as most of them have headed home to New York and Michigan and St. Louis, along with all their peculariarities. But it didn't. Instead yesterday's parade celebrated the start of "POWERBOAT WEEK" here in Key West.

The main street (Duval) was shut down about 4 pm for the Boat Parade as the boaters made their way into town, complete with their power boats that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, not including the huge trailers and truck cabs required to pull these beasts on land. About 20 or more of these boats paraded down the narrow Duval Street, horns blowing, people throwing beads and candy, and everyone overall having a fun time, as is customary in Key West.

I did have brunch at Louie's Backyard yesterday (had the Mimosa at about 12:05 p.m., the first time alcohol is permitted to be served on Sundays in this Southern State. Spent a couple hours there at Louie's after brunch watching the dogs on the neighboring dog beach, running in and out of the substantial tide.

Found a good replacement cigar store (Cubacuba.com). Picked up a couple sticks and found them extremely satisfying!

Dinner was at a local chinese restaurant. Then I turned in early for some reading (just finishing a great book on the Titanic).

Who knows what today holds. Time to refill the coffee, grab the paper and head up to the sundeck. Maybe I will get a good idea there.

More tomorrow.................
