Bulletin Announcements from 7/26/2009

ALTAR FLOWERS are given to the glory of God by Hugh and Phyllis Price in celebration of their wedding anniversary on July 31st.

A REMINDER OF GOD’S PROVISION AND LOVE The extra bouquet of roses on the altar are from the 140+ roses around our church campus. They are a reminder of God’s eternal love for us.

COME TO THE GARDEN ALONE – OR WITH OTHERS! The Margaret Fackler Memorial Garden (between the Church and Koch Hall) is now complete. Formal dedication will happen this fall. Consider coming early to church and spend some time in the garden enjoying the beautiful plants, sitting on the bench, listening to the gentle fountain.

HOME VISITS Pastor Schaar still has a number of days and times available for his “Pastor to People” Home Visits during the months of July and August. Please stop by the easel in the Narthex and sign-up for a one-hour visit from Pastor.

WORSHIP RESOURCES AVAILABLE Extra bulletin copies as well as printed copies of Pastor Schaar’s sermons are available from the Information Rack in the Narthex. These resources make it easy for you to share things with neighbors, family members or friends. They are all free for the taking!

BRACELET FOUND For the past several weeks there has been a small bracelet sitting around which was found in a pew after worship. It has blue and topaz plastic beads. If this belongs to you, you may claim it from Pastor Schaar.

APARTMENT AVAILABLE Historic First Lutheran will have a large 3-bedroom (approximately 1,800 square feet) apartment on the church campus available for rent 1 September. The month-to-month rent is expected to be around $1,850.00. If you know of any QUALITY potential tenants (please don’t refer anyone with bad credit or previous bad rental history), please have them contact Pastor Schaar at the Church Administrative Center to apply.

WITH HEARTFELT THANKS! Thank you to Pastor Schaar and the members of Historic First Lutheran for the beautiful flower / plant arrangement, your prayers, cards and concern upon the death of my step-father, Ed. Your thoughtfulness was deeply appreciated. – Gina Harding.

SING A NEW SONG! Historic First Lutheran will be printing a new songbook for our pew racks that contain our favorite contemporary songs. These songbooks will be used on our Hymn Sing Sundays. Please write down a list of your favorite contemporary songs that are not contained in any of our other pew songbooks and submit that list to Pastor Schaar.

USHERS: TAKE NOTE Next week’s service will involve Usher Team #6 – Kevin Baumgartner, Daniel Hendry, Steven Hendry and James Price.
