On Sunday 14 June, Historic First Lutheran, 808 N. Los Robles, Pasadena, will celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Pastor Christopher Schaar in the Holy Ministry and as Senior Pastor.
This is truly an event to celebrate as out of Pastor’s 60 seminary classmates, only 8 are still serving the same congregation they were 15 years ago (that’s only 13.33%).
A special service at 10:00 a.m. will feature Pastor Stanley A. Quebe of Clovis, California as preacher. Prior to his retirement, Pastor Quebe served with distinction at Zion Lutheran in San Luis Obisbo, CA (1954-1969), at Emmanuel Lutheran in Fresno, CA (1969-1982) and at Zion Lutheran in Anaheim, CA. (1982-retirement). Pastor Quebe confirmed Pastor Schaar in 1982 at Emmanuel. Pastor Quebe also preached at Pastor Schaar’s ordination into the Holy Ministry at the Worship Center on the campus of Concordia University Irvine in 1994, wearing sunglasses while preaching, no less. Pastor Schaar has long commented that Pastor Quebe is one of his greatest mentors in ministry.
A renewal of ordination vows and laying on of hands will be included in the service.
All are invited. For more information, please contact 626.793.1139
