On 29 May 1892, a small group of Lutheran Christians stepped out in faith, knowing that the newly incorporated rough and tumble City of Pasadena needed a Christian congregation dedicated to carrying out Jesus’ Great Commission, faithfully preaching the Word of God in its truth and purity and rightly administering the Sacraments of Holy Baptism and The Lord’s Supper. Our current celebration recognizes their forward-thinking and thanks God for His blessings during the past 117 years.
On Sunday 31 May, Historic First Lutheran, 808 N. Los Robles, Pasadena, will celebrate its 117th year of mission and ministry. ONE BILINGUAL SERVICE will be held that day at 10:00 a.m., led equally by Senior Pastor Christopher Schaar and Associate Pastor Marcello Gómez, including members of Historic First Lutheran, Fuente de Agua Viva and the Hispanic worshiping group from Trinity Central, Los Angeles, which is also served by Pastor Gomez and happens to be Historic First Lutheran's "Mother Church." An international potluck luncheon will be held in the gym after the service. Everyone is invited. For more information contact 626.793.1139 or Firstpasa@aol.com
