ALTAR FLOWERS are given to the glory of God by Phyllis Price in loving memory of the December 7th birthday of her father, Phillip Barnett, and also in loving memory of the December 25th birthday of her mother-in-law, Josephine Price.
THANK YOU! To all who gifted Pastor Schaar at Christmas time with additional gifts to the general fund of Historic First Lutheran to help reduce our deficit, THANK YOU! More than $4,100.00 was received in honor of Pastor Schaar and his ministry here!
PORTALS OF PRAYERS The January – March 2009 issue of “Portals of Prayers” are available from the Information Rack in the Narthex. Regular print and large print versions are available.
AN EXCITING EVENT “Equipping to Share” comes to Historic First Lutheran on Saturday 21 February. Ever find yourself “tongue-tied” when trying to speak about Jesus? Then this workshop is for you. There is a $15.00 cost for this workshop, but an anonymous member will refund this cost to all members of Historic First Lutheran who actually attend. Please keep watching for more information!
HATS OFF TO ENTERTAINMENT! The 120th Rose Parade will roll through town this coming Thursday morning, beginning at 8:00 a.m. You will want to particularly watch for the annual float sponsored by the Lutheran Laymen’s League and Lutheran Hour Ministries. Not only is this the only religious float in the parade, but our own Erica McDaniel (daughter of congregational president Gerald Freeny) and Pastor Marcello Gómez will be riding on the float!
USHERS TAKE NOTE Next week’s service will involve Usher Team #5 – Ocilda Files, Lisa Morita and Scott Vila.
