I arrived back home at LAX this morning about 1 am. Good to be back in my own bed.
The last couple days in Florida were wonderful! Beautiful weather -- back to the old typical hot and humid temps.
Monday afternoon found me back on the wave runner. Then a stop by Irish Kevin's where my friend John was performing. Had dinner with John after his show at La Trattoria, a wonderful Italian restaurant on Duval Street.
Tuesday was wander the town day and buying everything I needed to get before leaving the next day. Stopped by Irish Kevin's again and caught John's show. The show was interrupted for 30 minutes or so by the Veteran's Day Parade down Duval Street. A true small-town parade complete with Veteran's, active duty military as well as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, school groups, etc. Key West has traditionally been a big Navy town, with a strong military presence to this very day. During the Civil War, Key West remained a Union Town due to the presence of Union Forces at the many forts in town and 60 miles out into the ocean and gulf.
Anyway, dinner Tuesday night was back at El Siboney (best Cuban restaurant on the planet).
Wednesday was again a walk around town day, then hit the airport for a 6:15 flight to Atlanta and a 9:15 flight back to LAX.
I am heading up to Lake Arrowhead for the weekend then back into the office on Monday.
All for now.
